Hello,
My name is Chad Coppieters. I am currently in PSI at the University of Lethbridge, but I have done other things before I reached this point in my life. I was born and raised just south of Lethbridge in a town called Raymond. I still reside in Raymond because I enjoy the small town life. After graduating from High School, I went to North Carolina for a couple of years and then returned home. I did a couple of years of schooling at Lethbridge Community College, but soon found (what I thought was) good employment working for the Maintenance Department of the Westwind School Division. I enjoyed my time there doing various types of work in many schools across Southern Alberta. After several years I made the decision to go back to school and chose to focus on becoming a teacher.
At the University of Lethbridge my Major is in General Science (Bio., Geog., & Psych.) and I also have a minor in CTS: Community Health. To be completely honest, I enjoy going to school, but wish that our grades were based on attendance rather than tests. That would make school more enjoyable and less stressful. I had a great time in my Ed. 2500 class while working with a grade 3 class at Jennie Emery Elementary school in Coaldale. I found it to be a very valuable experience.
There are some other things that you make like to know about me. I have been married for 7 years and have two children. My oldest, Ivy, is four years old and just started Pre-school and my youngest is Zack, he is 18 months old and quite a hand full. I am also a volunteer member of the Raymond Fire Department and have been there for over eight years. Also, I am a registered member of the Alberta College of Paramedics, and volunteer with the Raymond and District Ambulance Society. These organizations allow me to give back and help the community where I live. I find it to be a very rewarding experience, while at the same time I can continue to grow and learn in other areas of my life beside the things I learn at university.
